SJTHS to offer STE Program for incoming Junior High Freshmen

San Jose Technical High School (SJTHS) will be offering Science, Technology, and Engineering (STE) Curriculum Program for the incoming Junior high school freshmen for School Year, 2022-2023. The said curriculum program is based on the Division Memo no. 171 s. 2022 released by Department of Education- Northern Samar Division mandating the San Jose Technical High School as one of the six (6) selected schools in the entire division to implement STE Curriculum Program. 

On this manner, the SJTHS Principal, Dr. Jaime A. Cabili, Jr. entrusted Mrs. Marilyn M. Anonuevo, Sci-Math Department Head, and her teaching force as frontrunners of school in the implementation of STE curriculum program. Indeed, the school administration and the said department worked together to comply all the necessary requirements for the approval of STE program in the upcoming school year. Hence, Various activities and efforts were also made to ensure the full implementation of the said curriculum such as; conducting school campaign caravan, developing an admission test, preparing school’s science and mathematics laboratory facilities, conducting series of LAC Sessions, and validating all required documents on the said curriculum expansion. 

Moreover, Dr. Jaime , Ma’am Marilyn and the schoo's Science and Mathematics eachers  had joined with Pambujan National High School in a benchmarking activity last June 14, 2022. The said activity aims to adapt the best practices of Pambujan National High School as it considered as one of the outstanding schools that successfully implemented the STE Curriculum Program in the entire division of Northern Samar.

“Implementation of STE Curriculum program is not a challenge but rather an opportunity of the school”, Ma’am Marilyn said in an interview. “It is an opportunity to provide higher learning and quality secondary education to our learners anchored on the standards, core competencies, and approaches of Science, Technology and Engineering”, she explained. 

Meanwhile, Mr. Mauricio Al Bido, STE Curriculum Program Coordinator, is in-charge of admission of incoming Grade 7 enrollees of the said program by validating their basic requirements and administering Aptitude Test for pre-qualified freshmen. 


Indeed, Dr. Jaime foresaw this curriculum program as another milestone of San Jose Technical High School because of the future advantages it could bring to entire studentry and to the community especially that nowadays Science and Mathematics are getting more in demands in global arena. 


Hence, this curriculum program of aims for the development of Science, Mathematics, Engineering, and Research in Special Science Classes (SSC) in order to produce highly responsible, morally upright, globally competitive, and work-ready learners.
